Stories of Salvation: Sister Lacey Tomlinson

My name is Lacey Tomlinson, and I have been attending Beckwith Missionary Baptist Church since I was born. I have attended many revivals and wouldn’t trade those memories for the world. I became convicted during revival at Caney Fork Missionary Baptist Church where my dad, Brother Danny Tomlinson, was assisting Brother Danny Raines. I had heard the Word for my whole life, and I knew what I had to do, but for some reason I kept resisting. I would go into the bathroom after service and kneel on the floor and just pray and pray, but I never got the peace I needed. The Thursday night during revival, my family and I had come home after church and I was in my room getting ready to go to bed. My dad came into my room and asked me if I had any questions or if I wanted to talk about anything and I just shook my head no. He didn’t pressure me, but he reassured me that he was there if I needed him for anything. It was at that moment that the conviction hit me the hardest. I went into my parents’ bedroom and told them I knew I was lost and I had to get right with the Lord. They advised me to pray and turn EVERYTHING over to God. I went into my bedroom and cried out in prayer, but that burden was still on my heart. It took me a while, but the last time I knelt down in prayer and cried out for God to forgive me and save my soul, I felt that burden lift off of me. There wasn’t a parade or an extravagant light show, but instead, an instant smile came across my face. I opened my eyes and ran into my parent’s room and yelled, “I got it!” Of course, they knew exactly what had happened and my brother came into their bedroom with us and we all rejoiced. At this point in the night, it was around 11:30, but I couldn’t help myself. I picked up our house phone and started calling everyone in my family to tell them I got SAVED! Salvation is the most precious gift in this life, and it comes from our Almighty God. I fall short every day, and I am thankful that I serve a forgiving God. I was saved when I was 12 years old on June 22, 2006 on my bedroom floor by Grace through Faith.

Lacey, so happy to read about your salvation, what a wonderful story! I'm still pondering the wording of my special story and plan on posting soon! Love you and your wonderful family and I love our little church where I know the true plan of salvation is preached!
